Introduction

In this exercise, you will be asked to group sentences together to form coherent paragraphs.
Activity 1 is concerned with CONTENT

The student essay you will read concerns the Emporio Armani commercial for the perfume Diamonds,featuring Beyonce.

Objectives

This exercise is designed to help you construct clear paragraphs to help your reader follow your argument.



Activity 1: Text 1

In an academic essay, points are developed into a paragraph with supporting details or explanation. Can you break up this sample paragraph into points, and reorder these points to create an outline of a coherent essay?

Instruction

1. Download the text using the link marked 'Text 1' below. This will open the document in Microsoft Word and you can then edit the text as usual. 2. Read through the text and try to identify the different points that are made. 3. Cut and paste these points into a new document as separate paragraphs and re-order them as you think appropriate. 4. Paste your suggested solution into the text box and compare with the solution given via the link in the feedback box.
